Darren has been feeling a bit under the weather this week, so I decided to make him a special breakfast treat - sticky buns! I made these using parts of a few different recipes.
The cast of characters:
I forgot to put the white sugar in this picture.
Melt the butter. I did this in the microwave in the baking dish to save on cleanup.
Add vanilla, brown sugar, and honey to the butter and mix well.
The spread chopped pecans over this mixture.
Unroll the crescent dough and spread some melted butter on it. Then liberally sprinkle on cinnamon and sugar.
Then sprinkle on the remaining pecans and roll it up along the long edge.
Then cut it into 16 pieces and spread them over the butter-brown sugar-honey mixture and press them down slightly.
Cook them until the tops are golden and then cool them in the pan for 10 minutes.
Flip them out onto a plate or platter and serve warm.
This might have been easier done with a round pan and a regular plate. Live and learn, and eat sticky buns soon!
